Collective Rights Definition

Question - What Does The Term Collective Rights Mean?

Answer - Employment rights for a group of workers- often, though not exclusively, exercised through a trade union. For example an employer must consult with the workforce as a whole when making significant redundancies (20 or more in a year). This would take place through a recognised union, an existing works council or, if no body existed, one would have to be set up.
